Just get started …

… that’s one of the important things to do if you want to build resilience, both for yourself and for the people and social systems you live in and with.

That’s why I sat down with my colleague Katja Knoche two weeks ago. She heads the House of Science and is committed to shaping the interface between science, the city, and the region. We brainstormed a few ideas and then simply made an appointment:

Wednesday | November 26, 2025, 1:00 p.m.

House of Science | Villa Sauer, Obergraben 23, 57072 Siegen

I’ll bring my oboe and a few striking texts, and then there will be plenty of room to encounter music and thoughts from very different eras. A journey through time and temporality.

Further information about the event can be found here.

During rehearsals, Patricia Pool’s poetry collection, on which the oboe rests here, is always present. Texts from the collection “Bücher ohne Buchstaben” (Books Without Letters) will be read during the event. It is Patricias first German poetry book. Proud that I have the honor to present it.

csnd 20th annual conference in Siegen …

… three hundred and two days to go until 11.03.2026, the first day of the annual conference of csnd e. V. The csnd is the umbrella organization of career service institutions at German universities. The topic of the conference: resilience. We are looking forward to welcoming our colleagues and many interesting speakers, to exchanging ideas, impulses and ideas so that we can do good career service work for our students, innovative and committed.

Here in Siegen, we are now starting to plan and prepare, because we want to do everything in a relaxed and stress-free manner. Let’s see.

How the planning is going, the ideas and impulses we would like to receive from the colleagues coming to Siegen in March next year, all that can be found in the jt2026 blog on the csnd website. You can easily access it via this link: https://csnd.de/jt2026
